For many many years I devoted myself to electric guitars for their great versatility and the ability to be played even late at night, unplugged, just for practicing, not disturbing anyone. But my real love, I discovered late in the years, was the world of acoustic one so I started up building a little collection of beautiful and good sounding acoustic guitars.
The Taylor 614CE is a very high-quality guitar and it’s one of my best. It is a stand-out cutaway acoustic-electric models in the Taylor Acoustic Guitar 600 series, which feature Sitka spruce tops with Big leaf maple back and sides. The body exhibits the big maple sound in a Grand Auditorium shape; a brilliant size and shape for all types of performance. The Taylor 614CE has lovely, high quality finishing touches including an Abalone soundhole rosette; Pearl “Leaf” pattern fretboard inlays; hard rock maple neck with Ebony fretboard; gold-plated Taylor tuners; Ebony bridge and headstock overlay; white binding; with “Tusq” nut and saddle. As with all 600 series guitars the Taylor 614ce is a Venetian cutaway pre-equipped with Taylor Expression electronics. Complete with a Taylor deluxe hard-shell case, the guitar retails new for just under USD $4,000 and while not an inexpensive guitar, is worth every cent.
I bought her in 2004 in Milan
